There is a rumour going around that when he titled his post "So This Is Goodbye" last Friday he might have meant that this is goodbye.
- Would he take a holiday?
- Would he leave Canada?
- Would he quit blogging?
My first thought was "That's Toronto!" closely followed by "What the hell am I doing here?" Toronto has neighbourhoods and blazing summer sun and Lake Ontario and just maybe the possibility of becoming an interesting place to be.***** In Toronto the future has yet to become impossible. I do not think you can ask much more from life let alone a city.One can only imagine what is really meant by the footnote: "*****Plus, cities have a way of becoming cool approximately three months after I arrive. So now we watch until ten-thirty this morning to see if the unusually quiet weekend turns into alarming radio silence on Monday.

I am impressed the metatags are bringing up the tarot page already. I have a couple test ads out by it is not quite officially active; at least not in my mind. My ad in Metropolis (Tokyo) comes on-line September 1...

That ABD after PhD means "all but dissertation". It is a fine American distinction meaning I have passed doctoral comprehensive examinations but have yet to defend the dissertation. Consequently, I do not have a PhD! That project is on hold pending cash, a committee and and renewed interest on my part.
Meantime, I am figuring out what to include on the demo I am sending out for my first album and starting work on the second.

is it too late to rework that dissertation, into something involving modern North American urban culture, the gothic tribe therein, and its influence on musical trends? Perhaps you're working on it already...
