Things are a wee bit different in the old country:
...South Harris residents argue the Sabbath must be strictly observed as a day of rest. Some left marks of their disapproval at the quayside. Yellow tape bearing the words "Caution Keep Out" had been tied across the ferry slipway and several posters bearing the words "remember the Sabbath day" were posted on surrounding signs and buildings.Just another reminder that I am going to aych-eee-double-hockey-sticks along with the rest of you lot fer dayin mony a wicked deed like taykin' the ferrrrry ona Sundee. Badjuns alla ye.

The Church of Scotland has reserved a special corner of Hell for Sunday bloggers, as well.

Yet also for people that mock bloggers.

What about bloggers who mock other bloggers?

I've just covered my eyes with my tartan scarf in horror as to the fate that awaits such demon spawn.

I notice the good people of South Harris manage to tear themselves away from the Sabbath to vandalize the ferry slipway.

I was on that ferry; I live a mile from where it departs. On the first run, there were more journalists than actual passengers, though trade picked up through the day.
There are some links to pictures taken by passengers, and other news stories, on the Berneray website at:

Hoots, mon. That is excellent. Sources on the front. John, let us know is there are any updates to this story. From your excellent site I can see why Berneray's folk might want something more that 6/7 ferry service. You're only wee!

Come to think of it, I think we need to adopt you all seeing how civilized you are if your recent community meeting is anything to go by:
Berneray Community Council meets tonight, in Berneray Community Hall. Starts at 7:30pm. Tea and choccies are provided (and you can bring your own to hand around). Everyone very welcome. Come and find out what the local issues of the moment are, and have your say. This meeting will also incorporate the 2006 Berneray Community Council Annual General Meeting.
