so i'm wandering around the bowels of olympic stadium one day after a game (and yes, I may have been drinking) when here comes youppi with his handler. he (it?) has his arm around a scantlily clad 17 year old and he's pushing his tongue through the mesh of his costume's mouth putting the fabric into her mouth. she's sucking on the fabric as hard as she can. "hey youppi, youppi, can we can a picture," my handlers and i start yelling. youppi ignores us. it turns ugly. we start swearing at the back end of youppi. he comes back and pushes me hard. i shove him back. and just as blows are about to be exchanged his handler gets in between us and brokers peace. a quick picture is snapped. drunk guys with youppi. back to the 17 year old.

so i'm telling this story years later and i note how embarassing it would have been had i made the front page of the gazette fighting youppi. "no," my friend points out, "embarassing would have been you on the front page getting your ass kicked by youppi."

yeah, i suppose. a fate narrowly averted.
