Nominations are open for the 2005 Canadian Blogging Awards and so far A Good Beer Blog is nominated for Best Blog, Best Group Blog and Best Culture Blog. Sure I was the nominator and co-nominee with Knut, Blork, Ale Fan and the other writers but does that really matter? Are we not worthy? [Ed.: We are DEVO. I don't know why I said that...something made me...]
I am begging, of course, for votes and also plan to lobby hard throughout the process but note that this space may not receive any of the placements on the list of nominees as a blog - despite being "the 4th best Liberal blog of 2004". The Tantrama series has been nominated, however, which gives much joy as it was fun to write. There has, though, been a bit of a shift from politics hereabouts which has been something I have noted with a number of other blogs I like. There is a bit of a lull on the Canadian scene given the lapsing of the opposition into some sort of extended sleepy period and, frankly, yapping about it has gotten a bit tedious. Even making fun of it through the series broke my will to go on. Do you miss it? Maybe I will revive the mockery once the election comes.
So, for now, the message really is vote often and vote beer and Tantrama, too.
