Here is the deal. If you give North Country Public Radio 25 bucks, say, during this membership drive and then listen for a year on the internet I bet you will give more next year. I did.
Sure I like the station because it is by my near neighbours but as a certified radio nerd - my certificate being the 1978 membership card I have somewhere for the Radio Prague Listeners' Club - I am constantly amazed by the quality of the programming as well as their responsiveness to the membership. Just this morning I got an email from the host of String Fever, the bluegrass show, on the nature of "boiled dinner" as a North Country phenomena. Even if you have no idea which North Country this is, give a listen send a few bucks and learn. Craig really outta. Even if you support your own public broadcaster through taxes, supporting another with a few bucks makes sense.

I have to admit I'm curious to hear more about the North Country boiled dinner and how it compares to a Northern NB one.

Indeed! It is an interesting region in that it is sort of like the Ottawa Valley or the Maritimes - woodsy and small town, but also parts are one of the playground areas for affluent urban folk to a degree those places are not.
