Just look at how sweetly John Gress of Reuters captured Boston's David Ortiz planning to smack some homers in The Battle of the Laundry that starts today at 4 pm. It is from today's NYT's sport section which I am checking out as part of my determinations as to the best sources of baseball related information in this most critical month of my earthly existence. Any other suggestions or favorites?

I never expected Clement to do this. He was pretty solid when he pitched for the Cubs in their '03 playoff run. Did not expect this at all.
And what happened to the offense that Put The Fear Into The Hearts of Stout Men?
The Angels lost because Colon couldn't get strike three to two batters with two strikes on them. Geez.

I think we need to light candles or something. That got me very glum. Clement was awful. Maybe the White Sox just slacked for September knowing they could eat 15 games and be in form.

I think the Candles in the Cathedral are a necessity now. Another drubbing by the (ick) White Socks, damn south siders.
WTH?
