Why would I feel sad for someone who I like as much as any other 80s pop person who has done a very good job on the celebrity circuit? Because she seems to just want to be doing something that is real, fairly mainstream as things go and well intentioned:
Madonna said the Kabbalah was "not hurting anybody" and she found it "very strange" that people questioned her following. "It frightens people," Madonna said. "So they try to denigrate it or trivialise it so that it makes more sense. "'What do you mean you study the Torah if you're not Jewish?' 'What do you mean you pray to God and wear sexy clothes? We don't understand this.'"It is a little sad that someone takes an interest in one of the great faiths, doesn't really make a show of that faith and...whatever. Now, having said that...I suppose you who know better may tell me this is a odd wee branch of Judaism where they speak to butter and shoes and small plants and stuff. Or is it because it is Madonna. Is that it?

these celebs should really stick to scientology a completely absurd system of belief where they can fully plumb the shallows of their souls.

You know that is not nice. Plus your favorite Scientologist is from Syracuse where all good Huveltonians dream of making their fortune.

you're right, that's not nice. maybe if tom cruise and jerry seinfeld were to take me out to lunch, they could show me the error of my ways. heck, i might even convert if they shared their fortunes with me.

Is Jerry one? That is nice. He eats breakfast cereal all day, too, right? Hey - Heuvelton Central was on Whiz Kids last night, the local PBS version of Reach for the Top.

You know, I used to be on Reach for the Top. What a coincidence! How'd we do?
