Nice to see in all the impending blether like the Gomery Report implications (just hold the election, please) or faceless Lord Goog renewing its attack on law (hiring a PR lawyer instead of a IP one to solve its problems), it is nice to have some simple news astronomical. Two new Plutonian moons have been picked out by the Hubble Space Telescope:
If confirmed, it would bring Pluto's tally of satellites to three; Charon, the only known moon of Pluto, was discovered by astronomers in 1978. Confirmation of two new moons would shed light on the evolution of the Kuiper Belt, the vast region containing icy objects beyond Neptune's orbit.Hmmm...a vast region containing icy objects beyond Neptune's orbit...sounds like Manitoba.

Pfft. Pluto isn't a proper planet. It's too small, too far away from the rest of the planets. I bet all the other planets have to pony up huge amounts in equalization, then sit around grumbling and moaning all day about how they have to support all the have-not planets and blah blah blah whineycakes, if it ain't Jupiter it ain't diddly and the political system on Pluto is all rife with patronage and it's not what you know it's who you know and on and on till you want to smack them.

Plutonians rely on only Plutonian products for their staples. They are a fiercely independent lot who know they have no one but themselves to rely upon at the endo fo the day. Transportation costs make any other prospect absurd. They also share administration of their liquor control boards with Neptune and Uranus to keep costs down and diversify selection.
