I am working away on my turn at writing the Red Ensign Standard, kicking myself for not raising my hand when there were less than ten members. These have been hard days for the group in that there has been some serious discussion as to its meaning - which range bloggers with an interest in history to bloggers with an interest in having lots of traffic or people having issues with the group acting group-like. I joined at the outset just because I like the flag with the fish to the lower right.
Writing a review of what 45 or so bloggers have written over two weeks is something of an effort in time but also patience as many views are expressed. It is also something of a 2003-ish concept, a carnival or link fest. Aggregators do this sort of thing automatically and we now easily each create our own. But that is isolating and also cherry picking. If we only read what we already agree with - like an iPod accessing things already know - there is not much potential for growth or reflection. It will be interesting to see what comes of the exercise. Should be up tomorrow night.
