I seem to have fallen into a habit when Christmas shopping of getting things neither I or the intended recipient might want. I blame internet shopping, of course. I can't get into it as a few of you are actually human who know me and not just responsive Googlebots created by Lord Goog to immitate contact in order to maintain the illusion of activity in the blogospheric region. Suffice it to say I know a lot about kitchen canister sets of the 1970s now.

Give good beer. At least YOU would like it.
I tell my wife to get whatever she likes, and then I can wrap it up. Guaranteed results!

Let's combine that thought. You get yourself a Big A IPA from Smuttynose and tell yourself it's from me.

Their Scottish Ale too? Pretty please?
As for the spouse, it goes both ways. I am very helpful 'ooh, honey, you can give me that expensive bottle of Single Malt Scotch for xmas!' Marital bliss.
Fans of Alan: what do YOU do for your Christmas shopping?
