The sun has yet to set on Montreal this Friday afternoon but the Tories meeting there are already getting all scratchy-face and hair-pully. From The Globular:
The Conservative party was born last year after an agreement to give equal weight at conventions to all ridings across the country â?” no matter how many members the riding has. Mr. MacKay said he and other Progressive Conservatives would never have agreed to merge with the Alliance without that guarantee and would have backed out of the process. "There wouldn't have been a merger," Mr. MacKay said. "There would not have been a merger."Another great moment in the history of the Tory long knives. Expect more fun as the weekend progresses.

We listened to the National news last night and smiled as Peter MacKay walked out of the meeting as he "was not happy" because of the resolution put forward and repeating "there would not have been a merger."
I bet Mr. Orchard is enjoying every minute of this charade as he recalls the knife he got in the back from Peter MacKay not that long ago. How does it feel, Peter?
