I said it was Tivo for your internet radio when it was in beta. Now its been released in 1.0. David should be very proud and tired. I am starting to play with my new toy.

Thanks man. I'm ready to kill someone at Rogers. They've totally f*cked my home HSI; I'm in a cyber cafe right now trying to run my business.
There's one more big UI change coming Monday or Tuesday that I think everyone's going to like.

Hey, David, how did you arrive at the "Jaeger" name? Connotations: Fallschirmjaeger. :-)
David Janes - March 25, 2005 7:22 AM
There's no doubt cool "Heavy Metal Umlaut" thing played a factor in making the name. However, it's kind of in honour of my year in Austria when I first came up with the concept.

You just wanted to be the jaegermeister.

Podcasting?!? Jeez. Just when the Internet finally enters into its full flower as a place where the shy, inarticulate and/or helium-voiced can, through their flying fingers, rule the world... the loudmouths have to invade. Again. Is there any playground they won't invade?
WHY would I want to broadcast my voice far and wide when I could write down my thoughts, which I'm far better at? Eek.

But you can provide internet audio of ambient sounds. That is what I would like to see emerge. I would like to have streaming audio of a rural UK pub or a cafe in Paris or the big surf beach in Australia.
