Thanks be to the Lord for committees of PR course grads. An airline goes under and they come out with this:
"We deeply regret that this had to happen. The decision to cease operations was only taken after difficult deliberation," said Jetsgo president Michel Leblanc.Difficult deliberateration? When the money's gone, there really isn't much left to deliberate. Why can't people say "we failed" or "our business did not make enough money to keep going" or "we evidently aren't much good at this."
Note: Jevon is noting the actual usefulness of tags (even though they are so January) to watch this story through technorati. Maybe not the "real news" but the personal effect for sure.

Re: Jetsgo No Go: <span style="color:maroon">Brilliant</span>.
As for the <span style="color:maroon">Fame</span> song, I can't sleep now without thinking of this.

i've been flying for 25 years. never had a worse experience than one flight with jetsgo. after writing numerous letters to both them and canada transport agency and getting no response, i feel very relieved to have michel leblanc and his moron [Ed.: <i>rudeness deleted</i>] assholes pulled from the air!
fuck those [Ed.: <i>rudeness deleted</i>] and their shady business practises!!!!
good riddance i say!!!

I never saw so many irate Canadians in one day than I did at work on Friday. The allure of $1 plane tickets had to end sooner or later, I guess.
On the bright side, the collapse of Jetsgo was a field day for headline writers and broadcast script writers:
"Jetsgone" (also the name of a support website)
"Jetsgo No Go" (I wrote that one at 14:00 ET on Friday!)
"Cool your Jetsgo"
"Jetsgo's hard landing"
"Jetsgoofed"
Any others?

Donna - look at the time of my posting. Isn't it clear that I own the "...no go" thing? Surely I deserve compensation. You know I say that but then again I think that most days. <p>If brother was still the headline writer at the Bedford Daily News he would have worked "tot pinned" and "bus plunge" into the story somehow.
