Phase one of the mission has been accomplished:

Received the borscht & jerky yesterday. Thanks! Jerky tastes great. I'll have to find a way to prepare the borscht though. No stove here. But I will soldier on and find a way to accomplish the mission. :) I'm actually curious to try it.

Excellent! I would post a digital photo of you making borscht. Try putting about 1/3 of it in a mug and pouring a kettle of hot water over it and letting it sit covered. That, though, migh hide its full beety beauty. Glad you liked the jerky. That was my bribe to participate in a borscht experiment, you know. The nice lady at the polish deli was quite pleased her dehydrated root vegetable powder went that far.
