I hate it when the teams I hate make a good move:
Manchester United have signed Dutch international goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar from Fulham for an undisclosed fee. The 34-year-old has agreed a two-year deal and will join the club on 1 July, providing he passes a medical.Van der Sar is one of the best keepers I have seen in recent years, single-handedly forcing a 0-0 draw in the Fulham v. Arsenal game at Highbury methinks in the 2003-2004 season. It will be interesting to see if the debt leveraged new American ownership at Man U tries now to keep up with oil cash rich Russian ownership at Chelsea. One word comes to mind if they try to: Leeds.

On the upside, Scotland beat Moldova 2-0 in World Cup qualifying while Norway and Italy tied, leaving Scotland just four points off qualification with (I think) a game in hand. The loverly Mr. McFadden, above, scored the clincher in the 88th minute. Take that Moldovans! What is a reasonably friendly slur one can make against Moldovans? How do you taunt one?

34 he is? My god, I feel old... I remember the day he was thrown in the Ajax A-team after then first choice keeper Menzo made a horrible keeper mistake. I wonder if that was Cruyff who 'discovered' Van Der Sar.
