After the perfect game and the perfect dinner at Sacket's Harbor Brewing, we had the kind of drive on a perfect early summer evening up the Lake Ontario shore of Jefferson County that makes you want to buy a cottage in another country. When we got to Cape Vincent to take the short ferry to Wolfe Island, this little bit of France was on with us, coming back from a Citroen owners meet in Saratoga New York, a five hours drive for the 18 hp, 450 cc motor. The nicest owners let us poke our heads all over it and answered all sorts of dumb questions.

yeh, I had one of those perfect early summer evening drives yesterday too... left Bolton Landing (on Lake George NY) at about 4 pm, wandered up to Lake Champlain via 9N and then rather than hop on the I-87 and drive boring expressways home, we veered Westward through the Adirondack high peaks. Dinner in Placid, then on through Saranac and Tupper Lakes as the sun was setting. Crossed the border at Ogdenburg around 10.30 pm and home to Ottawa thereafter. Those upstate NY highways have great scenery, esp in evening sunlight, & they're remarkably traffic free.
Talk about a happy father's day!

We should really thank the taxpayers of New York state for the lovely and under used highway system. The road between Dexter and Cape Vincent, all 15 miles of it or so, was especially a treat at 6:30 pm or so. Those eastern Lake Ontario evening and sunset views are a pretty undervalued.

I'll have to check out that road someday.... I know a few folks who live in and around NYC who'd dispute that under-used claim... suggest revising it to "under-used in upstate NY" ;+)

That is what I meant. It's like luxury secondary road contstruction on the eastern shore of NS.

Haven't seen those for a while

...It's those damn trees to blame...
