The trip was not hellish except that for the second time this year a Sony camera has died on me from lens mechanism failure and for the second time this week a bit of Sony electronics died on me. Lake George was an amazing bit of Americana, sort of a throw back to 1968 resort - beach, ice-cream and mini-putt. Pictures some other time. We tore through but it was kid friendly and even found some oatmeal for my breakfast.

We shall see. I had to buy the last dead one in the states on the run as it was the day of my cousin's wedding. I have no paperwork here. So I basically have to buy a new one anyway.

I am looking at this camera. Beefier. 12x zoom. Think of the shots of Watertown I would get.

Why Sony??

Proprietary memory cards. The frigging things are like printer ink cartridges. I ended up buying the same SCF-40 model that died for 199 USD. I have to write some letters to Sony Canada and Sony USA. I am a Sony sucker. Been since I saw a 1968 Trinitron TV in 1990 that looked better than anything new. Owned 4 radios over the years and now three digital cameras.
