British Open Day Four

Elmoo is not going to be happy with that putt |
This is a bit day in the family sporting calendar. When
The Open is played in Scotland we always have a family connection. My great-uncle was a groundskeeper at
Royal Troon and my uncle, as a senior member of
Gullane #1, has been the starter when it was at
Muirfield - not to mention that whole "Look! There's my brother again in the window of the club house with another whisky in front of the whole world" tsky-tsky thing.
But it is always nice when it is at St. Andrews. When they show a view of the approach to the 18th hole there there is a red sandstone building in the right side of the background which used to be a hotel where my folks honeymooned. See 8 of 9 in this BBC photo gallery - it's the one with the green-topped turret.
Anyway, we all have to watch to see if "cousin Tiger" - my mother's fiction of choice - wins again.

There is this little pub just of out of site, around the corner...
St. Andrews is the only place on the planet, (besides PEI, of course) from which I have roamed...to which I wish to return. And I shall!
