I like many blogs for many reasons so it may be unfair or dishonest to point to one and voice that usually pointless superlative, but I cannot get over how decent and interesting a thing is that thing called the Campblog. I have never met Mike - and may never - so yet while there are many close seconds and while I do not necessarily share identical interests or opinions, I am always struck by how he is always interested about the exterior world with which he comes into contact - as opposed to his own determinations upon them - all the while by being without gimmick, with good humour and on a homebrewed blog. God love the homebrew blog. Tonight's selections cover NHL, global warming, Iraq, a beautiful phot of Canada's navy's last tragedy making it home and, of course, fitba. Well done, Mike. Go on, blush - but not too much 'cause it's only me.

I'm going to break blog ranks here and say that I've decided that I quite like Jeffrey Simpson at the Globe and Mail. He's a red Tory, so I disagree with his opinions, but he thinks, which is nice in a columnist. He also seems to belong to the pre-ultra-cynical era in journalism. Anyway, today's column is especially good.
