Gee. If I were Dave Winer I guess I would think that blogs do control the political agenda as the powers that be have clearly knuckled under to my one-man one-day campaign:
The Ontario government has backed off on its controversial plans to get rid of the province's trillium logo. After having privately talked about dropping the trillium, creating a new Ontario flag and even a provincial song, the Liberals scrambled yesterday to undo the damage. "We are not planning on changing the trillium logo," said a spokesperson for Premier Dalton McGuinty...The premier said if he learned one thing from his recent trip to Davos, Switzerland for the annual international economic summit it was that Ontario has to do a better job of marketing itself to the world. No one at Davos apparently knew who Dalton was. One thought a Dalton was some sort of English cakey dessert. Even after he sang an impromptu styling raptastic version of "A Place to Stand a Place to Grow: Ontar-iar-iar-io!!!" to a silenced and stunned room. It wasn't the song's fault, DJ Dr. Dee.

Good job Al. Rebranding is almost always the sign of a struggling CEO. The problem can't be with me, it's the brand! If only we had a new logo, everyone would love us (etc).
The trillium symbol is distinctive, modern and elegant. Why would anyone want something else?

I think a Dalton is like a Boston Cream. Shiny on top and gooey in the middle. Good but maybe not for a dozen in a row.

Just that it happened at Davos (too bad they didn't know much about Ontario, though).
