I finally saw The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and was moved. I think if I knew the soundtrack was an accoustic version of early Bowie in Brazilian Portuguese by a character called Pele dos Santos I would have gone to the theatre.
But I do not go to the movies when the offering is too close to reality. So I did not.

The Portuguese covers are by the actor/musician - Seu Jorge (who was also in one of the best movies of the past few years: <a href=""http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317248/">City of God</a>) - the Life Aquatic soundtrack has a few of the bowie songs on it, but the real treasure is the recently release Studio Sessions, which includes all the bowie covers, and is well worth the price.
He also has a pretty good album of his own stuff, called Cru.

I really liked this movie too. Of course, I also think Bill Murray is the bees knees.
