As my fourth calendar year of maintaining this site and maybe my seventh of reading and commenting on the blogs of others approaches, I should be getting weary or wary but there appears to be some sort of peak of writing quality going on right now. This post by the Flea over one Liberal candidate's door-to-door skills is one of the best short essays I have ever read. This post by Jay is the latest in a series of serious commentary over the failings of the Conservative Party of Canada. Stephen Taylor is posting so well about specific events in Canadian politics from that conservative point of view that it appears that he must have staff.
All of a sudden I have some belief that the hype may have something to it, that the diligent practice of writing daily makes for better writing and better thinking. Can it be?

I would say you do a very good job, and a good, honest, blog is...gasp...more interesting and entertaining than the 'mainstream media'. Fresh! Unfettered! In your case, lawyers live by the word, and you no doubt grew up writing and reading a great deal, and no doubt that was true in your schooling and day to day work. I would imagine that your blogs and essays represent a nice contrast to all that official mass of paper you sort through every day.
