On my travels to the Big Smoke, I got to listen to a CBC Toronto interview with Chris and Jay of my rock acquaintances (and web servers mates) Sloan. My bits pass their bytes all the time. And it turns out that they are going to revive the late 80's CKDU radio thing on the new digital satellite CBC 3. It is being carried on Sirius Canada. Digital Radio? New CBC 3???
In early December, CBC Radio 3 is launching a daring new 24-hour satellite radio station that will give an enormous boost to Canadian independent music and culture. Beamed across North America on channel 94 of the Sirius Satellite Radio network, the station will feature artists from across the country and from across many genres - including rock, pop, hip-hop, electronica, and alt-country - before they hit the mainstream. For those artists, it means reaching millions of music fans they never would have before.I would have known this ten days ago if I paid any attention to Canada's nicest futurist, Tod, but the radio interview was better. Chris and Jay agreed that Chris will be the goof.
