That is a remarkable tale. The human touch contrasted against huge historical events always does it for me. A great link.
Gynaecologist though? It seems an odd profession to adopt but, thinking about it, perhaps it was his way of ensuring new life appeared to replace the lives lost.
Who knows. We really are a lucky generation hers in the UK.
