Do the kids today with their internets and 1,000 channel universe even know what reruns are? Do they have a clue about the sweaty anticipation that existed mid-September every year (mid-October in Canada) when there would actually be something you have not seen on TV before. Well, Nils (an exceedingly nice person who has proven that niceness by lugging a case of interesting but locally unavailable beer to me from the states) is taking us back to the world of reruns with some "best ofs" on his blog due to time restraint:
...to solve this, from time to time I'll post something from my past - a "best of" from my syndicated weekly column or a story from my book or some musings from a previous life. And sometimes I'll just suck it up and write something new. And most of you reading this won't know which is which. So we're all happy.Did this pass the PEI Blog Marketing Board? Isn't there a rule against this? I have 2225 posts here. Can I set up a widget that recycles them like those This Hour Has 22 Minutes reruns from 1994 that the CBC pumps out every lunch hour?

Instead of reruns, maybe Nils could have a summer replacement host (Lorne Elliot or Charlie Farquharson, maybe?).

I like to think of these postings as "new to you" ... or, ummm .. "previously owned" ...
The idea is based on some singular conceits: that a) people care that I post something (and in fact, are breathlessly awaiting my latest ouevre); and 2) that posting something will make us all happy. Both of those are eminently arguable.
But since I get nagged when I don't post often enough; and since I'm now hip- rather than knee-deep in a project that sucks every ounce of writing time away ... I thought I'd try this. Some is fresh, some is day-old, and if the guests don't notice, we dodged a bullet.

And Derek ... some blogs do that, have you noticed? Not mine, though. All Nils, all the time, till ya puke.

I want free Nils all Nils new Nils all the time that I can cut and paste and make profit from Google ads that I do not have to share with Nils. Is that so wrong?
