The Other Ben -

Too bad it's just a day trip. I could use an excuse to go for a pint.

Tis true. I am but a road warrior but at least I have a tank.

I had a Durango as a rental earlier this year, only $5 more or something (did they overbuy Durangos?) -- really liked it - it was very snowy at the time, too, so it was fun plowing through it all. Two Vrrroooom!-y thumbs up.

I think my original feelings were based in large part by the inability of the rental guy to lower the seat from the highest setting which drove my head into the ceiling. If it costs 50 bucks to get to Fat City and back I will be off side again.

How is it an upgrade to you give you a car that will be too bulky for some city lots and will also guzzle fuel like a teenager with a bottle of soda?? Oye.

370 km = 57.00 CND for gas. Yea!

I had to rent a vehicle for a freelance gig two weeks ago. I was also upgraded to an SUV -- a huge black Ford Explorer, to be exact. Boy, did it drink up a lot of gas! And driving that thing on the highway by myself made me feel guilty. But it came with a sunroof and heated seats, which was kind of nice. :)

Alan -

I was looking down at Explorers all day. I felt guilty and mentioned that to people in places like underground parking booths I could hardly fit into. One guy asked me if I didn't feel more secure. I never thought I felt that insecure. Certainly not enough to take on a $1,000 bucks a month car loan payment.
