This has nothing to do with the ivory billed woodpecker but has everything to do with my insomnia tonight.

I am an avid listener to Stuart Maconie's Critical List on BBC 2. I am sure you have heard of it. A few months ago I emailed my choice for his "unsung" track category. It was "The Roches" self titled album that I suggested he feature. Which he did.

The whole wonderful disk brings me back to listening to this music with Dave, yourself, Steve Robertson ..... and remembering you all as young men trying to decide who was the sexyist sister. I can remember wishing to grow up to be as seemingly cool as those women and to write something at least half as good as one of those songs.

I just thought this might bring back some memories - since I see no postings for music.

Katie. How are you? I still have that album as well as a CD version. I have posted some things about music - like this recently - but I do not find I am as bright about music as I thought I was. My biggest nostalgia trip recently (well, almost 2 years ago) was seeing Elvis Costello and remembering the high school parties from the time of his Armed Forces album. Now that the kids are in school I am somewhat concerned that they are only ten years away from that but I think I covered all the bases in terms of parental concerns.
By the way, it has been sometihng of old home month around here as my pal from teaching in Poland days Kay spoke up, I got an email from my 3d year undergrad rommie Will, my fifth-cousin-in-law and first-year-law-school-semi-roomie Kiki (who is at the AGO as well I think) as well as you. I don't really yap much about personal past stuff if only not to create a trail for the biometrics police. But the sister on the right was the sexiest. Definitely.
Who else is out there who recalls when I was not the big fat man, who knew my head at 17?
