Amazing. Twenty two years after I saw them at the then recently relocated Misty Moon on Barrington Street in Halifax, "Nova Heart" is still pretty good. Are they the best thing ever to come out of Burlington, Ontario?
Now when I say good, come to think of it, I don't mean I would advocate anyone laying out big money. I bought Arias & Symphonies to make up the balance to get me to the free shipping for Amazon on the London Calling reissue. And if you hadn't been nineteen in 1982 when the album came out, I suppose I would not really suggest that this would fill any gap in your life. And there is that weird fishing tackle for men's earwear that the lead singer (above right, at right) got into that will always remind me of the creepy dead guy from LEXX (above...err...right, at right...or vice-versa...) Just know that the band was not The Spoons, just Spoons. If you really needed an introduction to Canadian New Wave you could start with Martha first.

It always looked like he had some weird loaf thing on his head. Meat, or bread, I could never decide. The dead guy from LEXX, that is, to the ... er... right.

Maybe the guy from LEXX <i>is</i> the lead singer guy from <strike>the</strike> Spoons, undead with some kind of risen bread product attached to his brain in some bizzare future universe. I know that neither was in the pop art world's mind's eye at the same time. The shared use of pouty looks and fishing tackle for ear ornaments is a sure give away. I don't know why I did not see it before.

I once found myself standing next to the dead guy from Lexx in my local corner store here in Trawna. He was studying the cheese.

But he doesn't eat if he's the living dead, does he?

cheese and human brains taste exactly the same. same texture too - sort of a watery swiss. little known fact.
