Friday night soccer is usually followed by Saturday recover. Aches and pains and getting up at the crack on noon. It means I get to clean the house and make supper but I like it. Here are some observations for this afternoon:
- My buddy Nate has a good post on the CBC's selection of a single closed medium for internet radio.
- Miso soup or borsch is a great question when one needs a restorative broth. Today I made mine miso with shaved tuna, dried pepper and chinese mushroom.
- The August 23 issue of the New Yorker has a great multi-page article on a cheese shop in Greenwich Village with 900 square feet and 25 employees. I have made cheese. I would love to make cheese again. I wonder if I could create a great cottage industry cheese out of an apartment?
- The Red Sox are now only 2.5 back of the Yankees and the losing Yankee pitcher put his fist through the wall after being pulled last night. The mighty Morton won as well.
- The mighty might flea is a blog that is getting better and better. Nick is eclectic and a bit nutty and proud of both.

I can still be surprised and shocked by the actions of the sickest in humanity.

Golfing again, were you?
Wayne - September 4, 2004 6:08 PM
Yes, and since you asked...
Actually, it is (golf) what it takes to remind me of the good that is all around us, and wishing more people would want to enjoy and enhance the heaven we have here on earth, rather then making things so miserable in life due to their mixed-up belief that it is somehow better in the here-after. I could tell you about the 5-iron I hit on a 170 yard par-3, into the wind, over H20, that never left the pin, but...also, the 7-iron I pulled O.B. when laying up on a par-5.
And, there is a new course opening soon in Dieppe, that will be right up there with anything in the Maritimes. Islanders will be coming to Dieppe to play it, mark my words. You heard it here first.

Maybe John Lennon was onto something...?

What ... "Imagine there's no sand traps ..." I think that verse was left out of the final draft.
I repeat my question for Wayne .. know a good way to recondition some of my hundreds of used balls?
Alan - September 4, 2004 8:32 PM
[I still think Nils is setting up a rude joke, Wayne.]

I dunno...I lose most of mine. Practice ball bag for me. One can never have too many practice balls. I always need 'em for that. I missed that question the first time. Where was it? Your site has run dry lately, and many miss it.
Pros claim 3 holes is often the limit for them...'course they hit 'em harder then us. Since it is a game of confidence, teachers say to always play your best ball, and play proud. It helps you swing with the right attitude...confidence. Maybe you could find a needy junior at Stanhope and invest in his future???
BTW... we lost Moe Norman today...sad day for Canadian golf.
