Red Sox v. Yankees, Red Sox v. Yankees:
- Tonight - 7pm on WWTI channel 9 out of Watertown, NY, Yankee broadcast but they are extremely fair. If it is going sideways or I get ticked, I can go to WTIC 1080 AM Hartford audio which comes in clear with 50,000 night time clear channel watts;
- Tomorrow - 1 pm on WSYT channel 24 out of Syracuse, NY, Fox national broadcast but maybe Sox on Fox with Jerry Remy;
- Sunday - looking like an afternoon with the fading radio WNER 1410 AM Watertown, NY. This is one of the low power graveyard frequncies with only 5 kW of power which is supposed to service something like a 20 mile radius during daytime. The transmitter site is about 30 miles away, but there is line of sight.
By the way, no 20-game-winner Shilling in the rotation through the three games at Yankee Stadium but no Wakefield either. Wouldn't it be nice to be 0.5 back Sunday night.

This is sucking. WWTI, ABC Watertown, automatically switched to 20/20 at 9:30 despite the rain delays meaning the game was only picking up in the 3rd. Down on channel 5 WSTM, NBC from Syracuse but also with the baseball contract for that market as well... well...the CRTC gave the nod and the Third Watch episode (the most violent thing I have ever seen on TV) being shown moved over to CJOH, the Ottawa CTV broadcast, not to return after the rain delay ended, even though the Ottawa broadcast was also all the way over on channel 6. Then someone wakes up at WWTI and Babawawa is gone and baseball is back. Expect another automatic switch to click at 10:00 pm. I love cable TV in Canada.

Heaven:
Johnny's Damon ninth-inning single off Mariano Rivera scored the winning run as the Red Sox rallied to beat New York on Friday.
Down 2.5 Saturday morning.

hey, got your message last night. had theater ticks - annie get your gun. p was excited so off we went, me with walkman in hand. got home latr but in time to see finale of game. i wake today, excited, and then derek lowe. i like derek alot but this is enough. he needs to go elsewhere to pitch. good for him, good for us. go see what's shaking in the national league d. lowe. all i'm pulling for today is not losing 22-1. iknow sox fans are very concerned by this" says timmy mac today, on the national broadcast, as lowe walks off the field after getting hit by a line drive. "keep walking'" i'm thinking to myself, "just keep walking."

Bad portland...bad. Mr. Lowe is a valuable trade asset. I am liking him more and more after I realize I like Wakefield less and less.

I wrote that just getting into the house after a kids bowling party. I am speculating where he got hit and hoping there is a correlation with the score. Bad Derek...baaaaaaaaaad Derek.

cant trade him pally. lowe is on his own next year. he may be headed for the mexican leagues after today. and as for wake, yeah i cringe alot too but he eats up innings, keeps doing whatever they ask (like pitch on no days rest), and has been, despite nobody knowing whether he's going to have it or not on any given day, a quality big league starter (and reliever) over the years he has been here. it's just hard to have a knuckleballer in your rotation; the pitch is at least 30% voodoo......but that doesn't mean you don't want one. everybody wants a wakefield kicking around.
i hope you bowled better than derek pitched today. it was ugly, capital "U". as stated, i've always liked lowe but maybe it's time for him to move on. not the first time i've said that this season.
oh, and ahh, ...........fucking yankees!
i got a kid's bithday party tonight.
Alan - September 18, 2004 5:57 PM
I got ribs tonight. You lose.
Alan - September 18, 2004 9:14 PM
Now I feel guilty for being so rude and dedicate Ribfest 2005 to you.
portland - September 19, 2004 3:30 PM

Alan - September 19, 2004 4:41 PM
Didja get the parcel?
portland - September 20, 2004 12:57 AM
no. awwww, you ruined the surprise.
Alan - September 20, 2004 9:49 AM
I am surprised that you have forgotten the exchange of presents at the autumnal equinox, Brother portland. Have you forgotten to rinse your lederhosen in goat's milk, too?
portland - September 20, 2004 10:31 AM
i had red sox fever for about two weeks. it had me all discombobulated. seems to have abated somewhat. i'll get back with program.
and i'm using new super improved goat's milk. you?
Alan - September 20, 2004 10:53 AM
Yes! In the new larger jug with the handle. Much more convenient given the amount of milk needed this time of year.
portland - September 20, 2004 7:18 PM
what will those guys in goats milk marketing come up with next?
Alan - September 20, 2004 7:36 PM
They are clearly in touch with the lederhosen marketing board.
portland - September 21, 2004 1:00 PM
hey, lederhosen never killed anybody.
Alan - September 21, 2004 1:07 PM
Sure, sure - it's not lederhosen that kills its lederhosen wearers that do. How many times do we have to hear that old line.
