I don't talk about work much as I work for a government and get to go to meetings that you don't - so it would not be fair, loyal or smart. But I like what I do and I like it ever so much more when I see things like this in the paper - which is an good nosey paper by the way:
Web, snail mail and face to face communication. Go and say what you like. If I was to tell you anything about the meetings I can't tell you about, it is that this stuff gets aired, it's on the table. Go. Speak. Democracy. Next time, next meeting, go again. Job good.Have your say on city services
The Whig-Standard
Local News - Wednesday, October 20, 2004 @ 07:00The city is urging citizens to have their say on a review of civic services. Public open houses will be held Oct. 27 and 28 to discuss the review now underway at City Hall. A task force is considering what services the city should and should not be delivering and has formally identified the five areas it thinks the city should look at first.
Those areas are Lake Ontario Park campground, Belle Park golf course, private charter service using Kingston Transit buses, youth recreational camp programs and the leasing of city property and facilities. Beginning Friday, citizens can complete an online survey at the city’s website, www.cityofking ston.ca.
Although just five areas have been identified, the service review is wide ranging and was first conceived to look at everything local government does. The public meetings next week are divided according to subject...The city also has sent 1,200 letters to users of the services, seeking comments.
