There is a day in the life of every blog where the author wonders...who the hell reads this stuff. For me it is today as the stats package tells me I had 871 visits yesterday. Here are my theories:
- portland and I are actually as fascinating as we believe we are after a sufficient number of cocktails - except we have no idea how or why,
- Dave, the sys admin guy behind this and other blogs, is a recreational stats falsifier,
- The blogosphere is so rapidly contracting since Tod Maffin (Canada's nicest and smallest futurist) has declared the whole blog thing done that people are scrambling, or
- the hockey pool is my actually most compelling work to date, my gift to the world...

I disagree with Tod Maffin on that whole decline of blogging. ,Jim Elve makes more sense to me, that is if Tod's analysis is soley based on The Perseus Blog Survey, which doesn't really accurately tell the story.
(that was rather lazy of me)
BTW, I have a regular lurkers in Israel, Switzerland and Tennessee. Who or why, I may never know.
