I know I've written about this as I have a three hour repetition loop on stories when told face to face and I am sure that much the same is the case here.
Suffice it to say, I was surprised to see at the no-hitters display at the Baseball Hall of Fame, there was no mention of my role in securing the perfect game by the Expos by playing the lp track of Harry Belafonte's song "Day-o" non-stop over the last innings of the TV broadcast almost 13 years ago. It was heroic, what I knew to do, what I knew what must be done, even as a fresh faced Law Reform Commission of Canada summer student 28 year old. The key was never lifting the needle but rather scraping it back over the beginning - over and over. As the Hall of Fame is undergoing a massive refit with only about thirty percent of its exhibits open, perhaps this most important aspect of the 7th most exciting game ever will be noted.
By the way, with the exhibits limited, the cost of admission is reduced and, if you give your name, you get free tickets to the place once it is full re-opened. Nice touch.

so that was you!!! thanks pal. it was hot in ottawa that day. my phone was ringing as i was coming in the door and hanson, who has a feeling for these sort of things, was the one ringing it. he had been phoning me, letting it ring since the sixth. "turn on your radio," he said, "you'll want to hear this," and he hung up. how could you not love martinez? or hanson? and now you, for the part you played. i had no idea.
remember the call by van horne?; "el presidente.........el perfecto!"

Too late. Tod Maffin was on Sounds Like Canada this morning and said blogging is past it, over, kaput. As Tod is Canada's nicest and smallest futurist, I gotta believe him on this point. We will just have to stick to writing on this web site under some other adjective cum noun...what to call it...what to call it...

you know i love a challenge. how about something between slagging and expository and descriptive - deslexitory. no, we can do better. how about yokelling?

"Yokelling" is gold! Sums up the entire "blog as authority because I say so" aspect of this.
