The Luther Wright and the Wrongs set up before the show
I guess you would call the band "alt country". Alt is a funny word as it it meant to mean "new-fangled" or "more reverential than ironic yet still somewhat ironic". Conversely, when referencing brewed suppables, alt just means old and references a style of pre-lager ale brewed at

Anyway, I liked the equipment, especially the 1950's amp Luther himself was using miked up through a rental stack. Only about 75 at the show but that makes for a pretty much packed room. I noted that white Adidas basketball sneakers and Swedish nike baseball-style hats are not in, except in my life. I must have been having a pretty good time because at break when I told the lead guitarist at the bar that it was a pretty good show he called me "Mr. Smiley Face".
