I found this article via Blork (to your right). It is a first I have read in what ought to be a flood of articles on the pattern of content - as opposed to the systems - of blogs. I think this point is important:

Like a newspaper generated entirely from Associated Press articles, what effect will arise from an increased number of like publishers, but more redundancy and distance from the seed content. This, at the expense of authorship.
