I found this article via Blork (to your right). It is a first I have read in what ought to be a flood of articles on the pattern of content - as opposed to the systems - of blogs. I think this point is important:
I suspect that the inclination to adopt the rigid formal structure we see today will only balloon the echo chamber without necessarily contributing new content to it. Like a newspaper generated entirely from Associated Press articles, what effect will arise from an increased number of like publishers, but more redundancy and distance from the seed content. This, at the expense of authorship.Even thought the medium promises and can accomodate diversity, few really achieve that goal. All they do is link and quote. Like with this post.
