So the road trip of the Golden Nuggets took us to Belleville and specifically Zwicks Park on the waterfront. The game was elegant and we came away 2-0 winners and are now 2-1-0 for the season. We have a smaller turnout than usual and, after a couple of hard knocks, no subs so I had to actually play a full half. I missed an openish net from in the box and was very happy to hear the final whistle. Made a few nice passes so I am content. I think I called a teammate called Dave Bob all game.
But, earlier that evening as I am turning into the parking lot what do my eyes see...but a jetsicle.
The third Golden Hawk Knight located. The other two seen so far are in Brockville and Winnipeg
I did the right thing and checked out the post top and the quality of the join. Obviously some top notch maintenance teams in Belleville. Compare with the state of affairs atop the Brockville stick.
The post also had a couple of great plaques (below) which explain that this was a Centennial year project. Makes me wonder where the rest of the Golden Knight jets, can be found. Nils has explained that the Golden Hawks were the predecessors to the Snowbirds, Canada's current airforce acrobatic team. There can only be so many of these jets to have been passed around back in 1967.

That's some nice joint work on that jetsicle.
Sorry for my slow progress on the Toronto front. I got my digital minicam working but the picture resolution is so low I am going to hold off until I can borrow a proper camera!

Had one of those "presque vu" moments .. that's like deja vu only in this case you see something that's CLOSE to what you remember. As you (and I) can tell by reading the plaques, the predecessors to the Snowbirds weren't the Golden KNIGHTS ... they were the Golden HAWKS ... mea culpa.
A conversation with my Dad (today being the day for that) confirmed that they flew the Canadair Sabre. The middle jetsicle from Winnipeg which I couldn't identify earlier is a CF101 Voodoo jet.
There. As we say in these parts, "If it's a lie from me it was a lie to me".

I work on the premise that I am always wrong so this just proves it. Who are the Golden Knights? The US Army sky dive team.
