Just so you are clear on this, the next six days have got the potential each to have one of the greatest games of soccer you will ever see:
- Today - Denmark v. Sweden. Loser may go home.
- Tomorrow - Germany v. Czechs. Germany has to win.
- Thursday - Portugal v. Engerland. Losers cry.
- Friday - France v. Greece - losers lay on grass, kick and cry
- Saturday - Sweden v. Netherlands (my guess) - losers eat pickled herring then cry.
- Sunday - Italy v. Czechs (my guess) - losers and winners admire each others' nice jerseys and hairbands.
Canada Day is falling very nicely this year on Thursday, 1 July letting us watch the semis in comfort and free from the need to explain, yes, I am listening to sports at work and, yes, soccer is a sport people watch and, yes, those people are singing in the background and, yes, I did find it necessary to wear all orange to the office today...
