I have yet to decide who I am supporting in Euro 2004. Watching England v France just now, I am pretty certain it is not England. Maybe Sweden or Holland but half the Dutch hate the other half. Maybe Denmark.
My take on the game? Sloppy Rooney (the ball hog who missed two open passes in the box) was overshadowed only by the amazingly sloppy Gerrard who set up Henry of France very nicely leaving David James in goal for England no choice but the full body takeout. Beckham played well as did Ashley Cole for Eng-er-land. Nice to be up 1-0 going into injury time. Sucks to lose 2-1 three minutes later.
France looks good. Zidane is lovely. David Trezeguet has to learn to play with Henry. France has extremely snazzy socks as well - red Adidas with a small
red white and blue flag on the front shin (as shown). Good for both England and France to
pass on the Nike uni-uniform. Umbro and Adidas respectively.

Incredible match. I put up a video of Zidane's fantastic freekick somewhere.

Don't forget that Beckham's penalty was stopped. Whereas Zidane scored from a penalty kick in the 92nd minute.
Already at least one exhilarating match.

I didn;t think the Beckham penalty was such a shame as it was well struck and well saved by his own former team mate. Not like Ruud van Nistelrooy's run of misses and bar hitting last season for Man U.
Did you see Portugal v. Greece? That was good as well. Unfortunately, I will be travelling on Thursday and next Saturday so will miss both oh Holland's first two games, even on replay.

Portugal vs. Greece was a so-so match. The Portugese were probably too nervous, while the Greek played carefree. A surprising ending: Everyone thought that Portugal was going to wrap up Greece. Who'd guess that Greece would become a Reuzendoder? :-)
(I'm thinking about recording and streaming the Dutch replays for Arthur.)

...by comparison, in Scotland I understand the uncles were celebrating the auld alliance once more...

Btw are there Euro 2004 (live) broadcasts in Canada; or just in specific Canadian (metropolitan) regions?

We always get more football TV than Europe. Every game is live here between TSN and Fox Sports World and then they repeat it over and over in the evening. Because Canada is six time zones wide, the suppertime games there are before breakfast out in BC. World Cup 2002 had me up at 4 am a few times and I walked over the valley in PEI where I used to live at 5:30 am to watch the final at my folks cottage. Rather pleasant.

Check out this web site - soccer TV Canada which keeps a running list of all football related programs on all stations you can possibly receive here.

TSN and Fox Sports World
I was hoping CBC was going to broadcast some of those games, or even. I have no clue what's on TV or what channels we have. Have to check tonight.
