My home high speed internet, care of Sympatico, has been down for 24 hours. Interesting to find out that the toll free number in the phone book (published by the same company that owns Sympatico) no longer has a tech assistance line as one of the options. The robot voice actually goes on for three minutes or so blabbing trash about how the internet will make you more interesting, a better dancer and help you in your dating life before saying the office is shut. They want my PIN which is located on my billing statement - the one I never get. A very helpful human got into my account over the phone nonetheless and has a look "in my file" - which was a review to ensure that billing was not the problem.
Then I was put thought to the now unclocking technical department. Two minutes later a nice man assured me that he could see my modem so I had to be there at that computer to get further assistance. After pressing, I actually got the number to call hm as well: 310-7873 in case anyone else was wondering how you get Sympatico tech after the gate keeping business office is shut. I will try that number after work.
Not having internet at home has actually been a relief. I do not have to deal with it. Its like seeing the world with new eyes - look what the damn thing does to people! Seeing as I am taking a week's vacation which will see me on the road from Hershey PA to Moncton NB, I wonder if I will ever pick it up again.
Likely it will heal itself and I will get sucked into the false promise once again.
