The Oughties. None the less, you've just depressed me quite a bit. Although the middle-third of this decade started a several hundred days ago...

I know - but really '00 to '03 is the early part of a decade, '04 to '06 the middle and '07 to '09 the end.

That great guru of our age, John Madden, upon whose opinions should be the formative basis for all other opinions, thinks it's "the Oughts". We're in Ought-Four.
Unfortunately, there is no dominant sit-com right now to describe our time. The 80s was the Cheersian Age, the 90s was the Seinfeldian Era.
Post-Seinfeldian, Latter-day-Friendsian?
