Via David, here is a great site where you can access the living social history audio collections of the British Museum. Tonight, I will be listening to a first person recollection of going to a football match in the 1950's:
Arthur recalls the experience of going to watch Burnley FC in the 1950s. He describes the bus journey to the ground, the crowds, the terraces and atmosphere at during the game. Newbridge is on the Nelson side of Barrowford. Higherford and Blacko are villages on Pendle Hill to the north. Turfmoor is the home of Burnley FC and Bloomfield Road the home of Blackpool FC. Rishton is a village to the northwest of Blackburn.Reels and reels of audio tape of folks you don't know going on and on about something now in digital format. I am trying to make this interesting...

Being a man of much will power, I am listening to the Northumberland man describing killing pigs. The recording is from 1953 and is talking about a time now a hundred years ago. It is an interesting accent as it is likely one of those that made up the parts of North American accent. When he says "cut 'm up" it could be an Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia man speaking.
