It's coming!!!
When I was a kid, you know folks in the South Shore of Nova Scotia paid more attention to the weather from Maine TV than from Halifax CBC. It just seemed to be right more often. So tonight with the big storm a comin' here is the US forecast for Jefferson County, New York - the bit I can see from my house:
Thursday. Rain. Very windy with highs in the lower 40s. Southeast winds 15 to 20 mph. Becoming south 20 to 35 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 50 mph....and here is the weather from Environment Canada for Kingston:
Thursday .. Snow changing to freezing rain mixed with ice pellets in the morning and then to snow mixed with rain late in the morning and ending in the evening then cloudy. Snowfall amount 10 to 15 cm. Wind northeast 20 km/h becoming southwest 40 gusting to 60 in the afternoon. High plus 1.Big difference in the temperature making a big difference in the outcome. Kingston is not just a shore town and now runs 30 km deep since amalgamation. Weather at the shore and downtown can be very different from inland. But for this test it will be who reads the tea leaves better for me and mine here at the waterline.

We're enjoying the Christmas Fog in Hali this morning; I can't see ANYTHING from my house.

It is raining out the front and could be snowing out back for all I know. I need a coffee.

Right now the US weather service is saying the high at Watertown will be 10°C while Kingston only 4°C, these two points being in view of each other.
