Spiced apple rings in a can. On today's stateside list along with Wegman's butter beans. I thought I recalled these rings as being part of my Mississauga pre-school diet but it appears they are not available here. Very clovey. Good with ham. Mmmmm...haaammmm.

And speaking of meat, I had lunch at Luke's on Princess yesterday and had a ruben with the bestest smoked meat I ever tasted laced with saurkraut, the king of condiments. Like budder that meat was. Others had straight smoked meat and wood-smoked chicken breast. All on their own bread. Frankly, awful new age jazzy music and freaky new age decor but, and an overwhelming but, great service and the best sandwiches ever. No fries. Not a fries kind of place. It would not kill them to fry a spud but they choose not to. And with sandwich meat like that they could have three exceedingly tall Latvians in the corner screaming randomly at the diners for all I care.
