This morning so far I have read two stories about doing the right thing for people you can easily ignore:

• From the BBC comes the news that office cleaners in the UK are regularly not included in the Christmas office party. Give the care taker a present, you stuck-up losers.
• Ian helps a stranger through an accident. All for strawberry yogurt. I've never seen yogurt stocked high on a grocery shelf but I am 6'4" and have had to help many a grannie reach something high on a shelf. Do that, too, for frig's sake.

This reminds me of a recent threads at Craig's about boneheaded hick remarks about gay marriage and insecure but casually open sexists and racists. Life is a choice. Do the right thing sometimes, wudja? Start today. Help the grannie, invite the guy who cleans the toilet to the party, come aboard the racist. And while you are at it, put some paper money in the Sally Anne's kettle on the way out of the booze shop this Yule, not nickles. It's not that hard.
