There have been times when I have wanted an isolated place away from the crush of humanity in a public place, where you couldn't be seen or heard (like, when someone just broke up with you and you are on the verge of bawling in front of everybody in the mall). Unfortunately privacy is not a valued commodity in our anthill society, usually one must resort to the bathroom stall which is not really all that isolated either. Perhaps these sleep pods would fit the bill. Would I pay $14? Hm, I dunno.

I was thinking, too, that 20 minutes for that purpose is kinda indicative of the perception of time being squashed. Bertrand Russell has a good essay called "In Praise of Idleness" which talks about how the right to do nothing has been lost. That is might fight in life - for the right to and validity of doing nuttin'
