I have noticed that Bloglines is creating a lot of the "page not found" referral log entries. As one kind correspondent advised, Bloglines does not read my photos because I do not use the full URL for them, only the local identifier - I am too lazy. As a tactical response, I set my Blogline Subscription to "summary" for this blog. You do not see the photos unless you go to the site.
Is this so bad? I do not think I am such a fan of aggregators as readers, as opposed to alert tools, that I am going to plan layout around them. Am I am bigger fool than I think? Please help me stop the aggregator as reader insanity.
[I am creating a Hints from Heloise category for this post...no, I'm not...you didn't really think I would, did you?]

I'm not really a fan of the aggregator as reader either. It's akin to eating chocolate cake and having no taste buds.
Unfortunately, I do read most entries from my bloglines page and rarely do I click back to the original site to see unshown photos, or to check out replies. Then, when I do visit the actual sites, it's like re-acquainting with an old friend (or an old piece of chocolate cake, to carry forward that analogy).

I like this idea. I think I'll change my subscription to your feed to only show the summary as well because I found that I was more likely to skip completely your posts if all I saw were image placeholders that would never fill.

You are given a one-time otherwise-spam brag-up pass to this thread, David. Go for it.
