More dead cat bouncing from Eves. He thinks "Tory consultants to the Tory government" is now bad:
Provincial auditor Erik Peters pinpointed the consulting fees in his annual report last year, accusing the Conservative government of paying outrageously high fees to outsiders, when in many cases the same work could be done for less in house.Nice. What will they all be doing next Friday? At the time, the Conservative government defended the contracts, saying all proper tendering procedures were being followed, but yesterday Eves said he would set modest caps on how much consultants are paid for government work.
In his December report, Peters noted that 40 employees of the solicitor-general's ministry — now the public safety ministry — left their jobs, only to return within days as private consultants to do the same work for double the pay. One consultant's pay jumped to $2,600 a day from $725.
