The weird thing about gorillas is that they give you second glances, check you out. The Toronto Zoo has a newish gorilla house. You should feel guilty looking at them regardless but then, knowing that their chances in the wild are pretty crappy, what can you do? Saw lions and tigers and elephants but there was no unicorn [...and no Canadian immigrant folk music from the 60's - hey, they are still at it.]
Hippos are like cartoon animals. Giraffes are tall. Get the annual pass.

I also find looking at primates like Gorillas, Chimps and Orangs in zoos very difficult - I can't rid myslelf of the feeling that I am doing something really immoral. Like being in Planet of the Apes?

I'm personally fond of the 80s Rovers and "Wasn't It A Party".
Zoos I'm not sure about my opinion there.... pet stores, now that's what boils my blood... especially run down, dirty ones .. yuck. Sad.

We went back again on the drive home to check out polar bears, kangaroos and the otters. Our new doctor is a zoo fan, visiting anyone in a city where she finds herself. She is of the opinion that the Toronto Zoo is among the best. Any problem I would have would be of scale. I can't imagine, however, not wanting any pen to be bigger. I do not think of myself as a gooey animal lover (ask my cats) but I find it very easy to drop twoonies into slots for upkeep throughout the place at any opportunity.
