Oh, man. If it's not a small world, it's a small country. Fun-nee.

MK is also a big runner now, 10k's, half-marathons, etc. Has left law to teach at Algonquin, where he's now in admin. Saw him in Hfx a yr and a half ago. The 5 brothers all have the same congenital hearing impairment, as did their late father (who was St.F.X.'s 'Athlete of the Half Century' in his day), and have all done well at sports and in life.

It's a damn good thing I can drink Murray under the table because otherwise I'd be so depressed about not being him. He married into the McCann clan of Truro who used to run the book and record shop my wife worked for, too. All nice folk who we'll get reacquainted with when we head up there for a weekend soon - maybe when the ice shacks are up so I can go <strike>pinting</strike> fishing, yea, that's it..

Yeah, Cathy and her family are great. The only time I was in Pembroke was for M&C's wedding. Fun time. Nice town.

My best small world story that doesn't inclide the Maritimes:

I got my MA from Wake Forest University in North Caorlina. Few people in Canada have heard of it unless they follow NCAA sports. About 2 years ago I had a series of job interviews over 2 days in Ottawa for a position in a federal government program. In my last interview one of the women conducting the interview looked at my resume, saw where I went to school, and said, "Oh, they're big in sports right? And it's in Winston-Salem, NC?"
"Yes, it is," I replied."I'm impressed you know that. You're the first person here I've talked to that knew a thing about the school."
"Well my neighbour's son was the star running back there for 4 years. He would have graduated at the end of your first year."
Freaky.

Last I checked Morgan Kane was playing for the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe.
