In my continuing series of foreseeing the demise of things about which I really have no idea, it is Google's turn:
- Dave "I had no idea he was that hairy" Winer is creating a directory tree which includes directory space above himself. The rest of us go there.
- The structure of the directory will become universal, although this is a difficult proposition.
- Directories will fill with automated RSS keyword searches, even for sites not broadcasting their own RSS.
- We will each select our own directories to hunt for the information we are interested in and find it gathered for us. Information is - facts are - the fundamental element of the internet, not posts or personal web pages. We will have it all delivered to us, order, prioritized and particularized each to our own bizzare range of interests.

Here is how Dave is organizing his directories. While not a universal taxonomy, it is certainly specific and translatable/linkable by directory linking bots.

An here is someone in Italy considering Dave's categories and discovers they are already somewhat universal or "universable".
